Spending your summer as a camp counselor at Camp Oh-Neh-Tah is not your typical job — and that’s kind of the point.

Camp sits on over 400 acres in the Catskills, so yes… you’ll be outside a lot. Think trails, lake time, fresh air, and moving around throughout the day. If you like being active and not stuck behind a screen, you’re going to love it here.

You’ll live in a rustic cabin with your campers, which means you’re really part of their experience. You’re there for the laughs, the difference you can make, and the moments that make camp feel like camp.

You’ll also have a co-counselor — and honestly, this is where some of the best friendships start. You’ll figure things out together, support each other, and probably leave camp with a bond that lasts way longer than the summer.

No two days look exactly the same. You’ll help your cabin move through activities, jump in where needed, and be part of a team that keeps everything running. It’s very much a “we’re all in this together” kind of vibe.

If you’re an activity specialist, you’ll get to focus on what you love — leading sessions and sharing your skills with different groups of campers throughout the day.

Camp days are full, but you’ll have time to recharge too. You’ll get scheduled time off, plus some evenings and meals where you can hang out, reset, or just take a breather.

At the end of the day, this is about more than a summer job.

You’ll make real connections, gain confidence, and be part of something that actually matters — for your campers and for yourself.

And yes… you’ll leave with stories.

Lots of them.
