Are you searching for a meaningful summer job that makes a real difference? Do you love working with kids, being outdoors, and building lifelong memories? If so, becoming a camp counselor at Camp Oh-Neh-Tah in the Catskill Mountains might be the most rewarding thing you do all year.
Be More Than a Staff Member—Be a Role Model
At Camp Oh-Neh-Tah, we don’t just run activities—we build futures. As a counselor, you’ll empower underprivileged girls from New York City and Greene County to believe in themselves, take on challenges, and grow in confidence. Every moment—from cheering a camper on during a hike up Mount Zoar to helping them conquer homesickness—is a chance to make a lasting impact.
Join a Mission-Driven Team
Since 1936, Camp Oh-Neh-Tah has been a safe haven for girls aged 8–14. Operated by Girls Quest, our mission is to nurture social and academic growth, leadership skills, and a love of nature. As part of our team, you’ll be trained and supported by experienced leaders who care deeply about youth development and equity.
The Experience of a Lifetime (and a Resume Booster!)
Being a camp counselor builds more than just campfires—it builds your leadership, communication, conflict-resolution, and teamwork skills. Whether you’re studying education, social work, or simply love working with youth, your time at Camp Oh-Neh-Tah will help your resume stand out.

Live, Laugh, and Lead Outdoors
Camp Oh-Neh-Tah sits on 400 beautiful acres of forest, trails, and lakefront in East Windham, NY. Counselors live in cabins with the campers and spend their days facilitating activities like swimming, boating, drama, art, sports, and more. Evenings are filled with s’mores, song circles, and campfire stories under the stars.
Get Paid to Do Good
We know your time and talent are valuable. Camp counselors earn $450 per week, with meals and housing included from July 14 to July 28, 2025. Training begins before campers arrive on July 18—and trust us, by the end, you’ll wish camp were even longer.
Who We’re Looking For
You’re at least 18 and have graduated from high school
You love working with kids and being outdoors
You’re reliable, inclusive, empathetic, and spirited
You’re excited to make a difference while having fun
Due to the short session, we are unable to recruit international staff.
