What are the requirements to work at Camp Oh-Neh-Tah?

To join our summer staff, you’ll need to:
 • Be 18 or older and a high school graduate
 • Enjoy working with kids and being outside
 • Be ready to unplug (devices are for free time only)
 • Work well with others—camp is all about teamwork
 • Submit your health forms and complete training before camp begins

What are the camp dates?

Camp Oh-Neh-Tah runs July 31 – August 8, 2026,
with staff training from July 25 – 30.

Who are the staff?

Our team is made up of returning alumni, college students, teachers, creatives, and first-time counselors. Everyone’s here to make camp unforgettable. While we’re a girls’ camp, some support and program staff roles are filled by men who live in separate housing.

What kind of activities happen at camp?

Swimming, boating, sports, dance, drama, nature hikes, music, and more. If you have a talent or interest, you’ll likely get to share it.

What’s the housing like?

You’ll live in a shared cabin with two other staff and 9–10 campers. Cabins are rustic but have electricity, and bathroom facilities are close by.

How’s the food?

Meals are served family-style in the Dining Hall, with options for vegetarians, vegans, and food allergies. You can eat inside or out at the picnic tables.

Do I get time off?

Yes!
 • 1 break during the camp day
 • Two half-day (5-hour) breaks during the week
 • 1 evening off
Leaving camp is rare and only allowed under specific guidelines.

How do I apply?

Accepted Answer

Head to the Join Our Team section on our website and click on the "Apply" button. You’ll be taken to Camp In Touch to submit your forms. Once hired, you’ll complete paperwork and a background check.
