Step Inside a Day at Camp Oh-Neh-Tah

What does a typical day at Camp Oh-Neh-Tah really look like? Let’s walk you through it—from sleepy-eyed wake-up calls to singing under the stars. Every moment is filled with connection, laughter, and the joy of trying something new.

🌞 Morning:

You wake up to the sounds of birds chirping and bunkmates giggling. After brushing our teeth and getting ready, we head to the flagpole for some early morning stretches and a spirited camp sing.

Then it’s off to the dining hall for a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the day. But before the fun begins, we each have our kapers—our way of taking care of our home away from home. Whether it’s watering the plants, composting food scraps, sweeping the dining hall, or setting the table (if it’s your job that day!), everyone pitches in.

And then? The first round of activities begins! You might be diving into the lake for morning swim, wandering through the woods on a nature walk, getting creative in arts & crafts, acting out skits in drama, or curling up in the library for a cozy literature session.

🍎 Lunch + Rest Hour:

Midday brings another delicious meal, served family-style in the dining hall. Our kid-approved lunches are always a hit—nutritious, yummy, and satisfying.

After lunch, we slow things down with Rest Hour. This is your time to journal, read, write letters, or play quiet games with your bunkmates. It’s a peaceful pause in the middle of an exciting day.

🏕️ Afternoon:

The fun picks up again in the afternoon! You might climb Mount Zoar, learn yoga under the trees, join a soccer scrimmage, or paddle out onto the lake. Camp is all about new experiences—and every day is a little different.

Then comes dinner, another camp highlight. Thanks to Chef Rob and his team, every meal is made with love (and often a fun surprise!). Whether it’s taco night or a cookout, we always share songs and laughs around the table.

🔥 Evening:

After dinner, it’s time for CLUBS—a camper favorite! You get to choose your own evening activity: from Double Dutch and bracelet making to board games, nail spa, looming, and beyond. It’s your time to follow your curiosity and try something new.

After a final sing or story, we brush our teeth, tuck into bed, and listen to a bedtime story from our counselors. The cabin gets quieter, and dreams take over.
